Heliosschule Cologne

  • architect: Schilling Architekten
  • scope of work: concept design – developed design

The Heliosschule Cologne is developing a new type of school building that is in line with its educational philosophy. Jack be nimble is involved in this project with questions about the optimal light for learning and the goal of helping to shape a practical example and guidelines for future schools.

The lighting concept is clearly and sensitively oriented towards the pedagogical tasks and the corresponding room structures. Particularly in the area of "learning landscapes", lighting design using large custom luminaires whose arrangement interferes with the usual luminaire grid in a gravity-like manner creates a sense of zoning and orientation for individual pupils and class groups.
