The lighting for the "Mehr! Theater am Großmarkt" underscores the multi-functional architecture and usage as an entertainment venue.
The challenge for the lighting design in Hamburg's largest theater was to support the open construction while referencing the historical architecture. Lighting scenes were created to differentiate functional areas, guide visitors intuitively and create the appropriate mood throughout the performance visit. A highly intuitive and flexible interface was designed to allow modifications by theatre staff to the lighting scenes. The resulting lighting design is adaptive and creates unique interior spaces within a listed historical building.
