The lighting, colour and guidance concept for the city of Solingen received a 1st Prize in the open competition.
The lighting concept for the city of Solingen accentuates the medieval town structure and draws connections to a tangible urban space. Light produces a coherent townscape, directs and gives rhythm. Public squares are improved, and with additional focus become places to meet and interact. Neutral white light accentuates the entrances to the malls and retail area, binding function with easy recognition. Private and public lighting combine to create a single, coherent impression.
