Fotografiska Kunsthaus Tacheles

  • architect:
    studio aisslinger
    Herzog & de Meuron
  • scope of work: concept design - handover

The site of the former Kunsthaus Tacheles is the last large piece of land in Berlin-Mitte that has not yet been rebuilt. With Herzog & de Meuron as architect of the overall area and Fotografiska as anchor tenant, studio aisslinger has been commissioned for the conversion of the Kunsthaus Tacheles. Fotografiska Berlin will be a modern, open, inviting location of the renowned photography museum with areas for gastronomy, workshops, events and exhibitions. Thus we develop a lighting concept that meets the complex requirements and the high standards of the building and its history.
