The task was to develop a fundamentally new hospitality concept at
that would bring the character of their own favourite restaurant into the RheinEnergieSTADION without losing the rousing and passionate stadium atmosphere that defines the FC. A noticeably different catering area.
The search for a suitable concept quickly led to the most successful era of the
club - the year 1978, in which FC won the double of championship and cup victory.
Club78 is a tribute to the double-winning year and, with all its
eccentricity and interior, brings the charm of this formative era into the present. It is the
modern interpretation of a trendy club from the 70s.In contrast to other areas, in the newly created catering area, the
three- to four-course menu is served at the table like in a restaurant. Special lighting technology creates a feeling of daylight in the room in the centre of the west stand, and thanks to large screens, a view of the stadium is always guaranteed. The built-in sound technology offers the opportunity to create a real club atmosphere with DJ sets and live music, especially during evening matches.

Club78 is the new multifunctional venue in Cologne - in a prime location. It is a joint production of Kölner Sportstätten and 1. FC Köln, with Cologne-based architects Gaarko responsible for its realisation.
